John is currently the Managing Editor of Cool Material, a daily digital lifestyle magazine. He is also the founder of The Daily Beer Bar, a craft beer bar in Durham, North Carolina.

Passionate about the food and beverage scene, John has written for Fifty Grande, The Quality Edit, Cool Hunting, INDY Week, InsideHook, It’s A Passion Thing, Edible Brooklyn, Boston.com, and Boston magazine. Previously, he was the Managing Editor for Hop Culture, a digital craft beer magazine.

As Hop Culture’s Managing Editor, John organized the site’s editorial schedule, wrote and edited articles, ran the magazine’s photo studio, and managed the various social media channels. He also assisted in marketing Hop Culture’s festival series: Juicy Brews.

When he isn’t writing or shooting photos, John is likely spending way too much money on vinyl, watching Premier League soccer, or reading longform journalism. He’s probably down for a beer tonight.
